The Asset Declaration

In order to determine the share of the assets that will be allocated to the community spouse (called the community spouse resource allowance), you are required to complete a declaration of all of the assets owned by the couple using the highest balance or value on the date closest to the “snap shot date.” Following a review by the local DHS caseworker, a determination of the community spouse resource allowance is made.
