Monthly Co-pay to the Nursing Home
On the assumption that an amount was directed from the monthly income of the institutionalized spouse to the community spouse, the amount remaining for the institutionalized spouse, less a $60.00 personal needs benefit (to be used by the institutionalized spouse for clothing, toiletries, haircuts, etc.), less that amount the institutionalized spouse pays for the monthly health care insurance plan (Medicare Supplement, Medigap Plan, etc.), is paid to the nursing home. This is the monthly co-pay amount or Patient Pay Amount.
